At Man Coed we’re not shy about our wide, high-quality range of recycled tree products. This is why we’re excited to announce that we have expanded our selection of premium logs for sale in the online shop! You are now able to purchase both hardwood and softwood logs for sale; in either large bulk, or smaller netted sizes.

Many burners prefer softwoods and have difficulty burning hardwood efficiently and at a good temperature. Locally sourced and ready for immediate delivery.

Softwood Logs

Our softwood logs are kiln dried to a moisture content of between 14% and 18%. The low moisture content allows for the easy burning experience you expect from softwood. This is ideal for weaker log burning stoves that just cannot reach the temperatures required to burn dense hardwood logs or much larger pieces of wood.

In the case of fireplaces, softwood logs are good fire starters. They burn quickly since they’re not as solid as hardwood logs: which is what makes them effective at generating the initial heat necessary for a healthy fire. On the other hand, if you want to stick to burning only one type of log then you forfeit time saved refuelling, and extra softwood logs, in keeping your fire alive.

However, even if you’ve been lighting fires for years – the satisfaction of watching a well-dried softwood log catch is something. We offer our softwood in small net bags, as well as larger dumpy bags of logs, as well as in cubic meters.

What is a dumpy bag of logs?

Bulk bags, otherwise known as; tonne bags, jumbo bags, or dumpy bags of logs, stone, etc; are bags of materials that are measured using mass as opposed to weight. This measurement is often used as an industry-standard – especially in the case of logs for sale – as weight is not always indicative of the overall material quality.

The higher the moisture content of the logs for sale the heavier the wood becomes. This means when buying softwood logs you may end up paying more for wood with higher moisture content. In turn, these wetter logs may prove inefficient for burning, as opposed to the logs for sale in bulk mass measurements  – like a dumpy bag of logs.

We sell our dumpy bags of logs in a standard bulk bag size (0.85m high x 0.85m wide x 0.85 depth) for your convenience. All of our logs are Woodsure approved, so you can rest easy in the knowledge that once your logs arrive they’re ready to burn!

The vast majority of our wood logs for sale are sourced locally through our tree surgery contracts, in Wales and North England; utilizing tree waste that would otherwise be discarded. These logs are then processed and treated at our specialist site in Sandycroft, Flintshire.
