Hardwood Logs in Nets

Google Reviews
4.6/5

Our popular kiln dried hardwood logs in nets have a moisture content of between 14% and 18%. This means our logs provide you with a long, sustained burn, and release rich aromas without the acrid smoke caused by damper woods. Our high-quality hardwood logs are therefore better for your lungs as well as your chimney.

All of our premium logs are pre-split for your convenience, meaning they can go straight from the net bag to your stove or fireplace!

'Nicest and most helpful work group I've ever come across. When working in a public park, they went above and beyond to help people access the field and play area, and allow dog walkers through. They even cut up some felled tree trunks for me to use in my elderly parents' garden, and refused to take anything in return. (And everyone was using PPE, which is a rarity in itself!).'

This company went above and beyond to assist me with purchasing a property which had Japanese Knotweed in the garden. Without the support from the staff at Mancoed the house purchase would have fallen through. The customer service is second to none and I can’t recommend them enough! Huge thanks to the team who supported me, Ash x

Since we first opened our shop, our kiln-dried, split hardwood logs have been the favourite of homeowners looking to create ambience within their home’s open fireplace; or heat their living space through the use of a stove. Our hardwood logs come from recycled timber that is produced by our tree surgeon teams in various regions of England and Wales. That’s right, the reason we can offer such high quality wood products, at an affordable price, is because the wood is recycled!

Man Coed conducts tree surgery contracts all across Wales, as well as into the North West of England. This means a lot of timber would be potentially wasted had we not invested in our drying facility in Sandycroft, Flintshire. As we operate now, we can efficiently harvest the wood waste generated during our land and vegetation management endeavours, as well as our regular tree surgery contracts. As such, we take pride in giving back to consumers and clients by offering our high-quality, recycled wood at an economical price for intense value.

Our kiln-dried hardwood logs are a very popular choice for many homeowners as they can be used in both fireplaces and wood stoves. The moisture content has been lowered to the point of increasing heat output and the length of the burn time. Man Coed’s net bags of kiln-dried hardwood logs are perfect for:

  • Easy transport, if property access is a problem.
  • Great to use in Pizza ovens
  • Great to use in wood-fired stoves
  • Great for use in your multi-fuel appliance.
  • Perfect size for a weekend’s burn.

Why Hardwood Logs?

Hardwood logs tend to burn hotter and for much longer than any softwood logs. This is not only due to hardwood being denser, and therefore offering more mass to burn, but also because they generally have a lower sap or resin content than softwood. In turn, the high density mass of our hardwood logs means that they can be a bit more difficult to light a fire with. This is why wood burning and home care magazines may suggest a mix of woods for lighting a stove. Softwood is great for getting a fire lit but hardwood will keep your fire burning for a longer period of time.

Hardwood logs are ideal for keeping a fire going. If your logs are roughly the same size then softwood will burn up much quicker than hardwood; meaning you’ll use up more logs if using only softwood. Hardwood can burn at high temperatures and lasts for a couple of hours depending on the size of the log and how you structure your fire. This means that when burning hardwood you have to refuel your fire less often and can focus on the more important aspects of life.

Hardwood logs are usually more expensive than softwood logs, so using hardwood recycled from our tree surgery work across the local area means we can offer our products at a competitive rate.

All of our logs are also Woodsure approved Ready To Burn  so if you’re looking for high-quality logs for sale then look no further! Woodsure is the UK’s only certified fuel supplier scheme. Having our logs be Woodsure approved means that all of our kiln-dried hardwood logs make reliable wood fuels that fulfil manufacturer specifications and burn with optimum efficiency – whilst also minimising the risk of damage to your appliance.

Just be aware that not all stoves can burn hardwood efficiently, so if in doubt it’s a good idea to check your stove’s fueling recommendations.
