Description
Our premium force dried sustainably sourced wood chip can be produced to any moisture content specific to your needs. We recommend around 18% to 22% moisture for an optimum burn on standard boilers and 4% to 8% on wood chip boilers.
Our wood chip are produced from hardwood and softwood or a mix with only virgin timber. Our G30 (medium-sized) wood chip are produced from logs which are all locally sourced so always ready for immediate delivery. We also have a whole tree wood chip if you do not need the quality offered by our premium wood chip.
Our specialist tree waste processing facility in North Wales produces huge amounts of great quality force dried wood chip. The facility also produces kiln dried logs and wood shavings. Man Coed is the only company in North Wales with this size of the wood processing facility for wood chip and logs.
We chose to invest in our wood chip facility to make a recycled product from the trees cut by our tree management division.
How Much Do You Need?
Storing wood chip
The wood chip should be stored undercover to prevent wetting, however good airflow is necessary to disperse water vapour and minimize the chance of composting and mould formation in the wood chip.
In addition, stack height should be kept below 10 m to prevent heat build-up from composting and the potential for spontaneous combustion of the wood chip.
