Man Coed and chester zoo
As part of our arb team work last week, we were down at Caldy Valley Park in Chester to coppice some Hazel trees.
After liaising with Chester Zoo and discovering that the elephants love to eat the offcuts of the hazel trees, all the stems we removed from the trees were donated to the zoo to feed the elephants and other animals there.
We love to collaborate with other organisations when it comes to our work, and it is great to see our wood waste recycled in such a great way.
So next time you are down at Chester Zoo, keep an eye out for the elephants eating their way through some leaves and branches.
